SACRAMENTO, CA, October 11, 2011—The Golden 1 Credit Union recently donated 72 boxes of office supplies to the Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT) of Greater Sacramento. The materials will be used to support numerous learning activities offered through the organization.
RAFT provides pre-K to grade 12 teachers, child-care providers and nonprofit community groups with activity kits and other learning materials, innovative project ideas, administrative support and professional development opportunities. RAFT welcomes donations of office supplies because it enables them to provide teachers with low-cost educational materials. Once collected, volunteers convert the materials into educational project kits.
"Golden 1 is committed to giving back to the communities we serve," said Donna Bland, President and CEO of The Golden 1 Credit Union. "Our donation will help make education more productive for teachers and students."
RAFT Sacramento, which was founded in 1984, strives to make a difference for teachers and students throughout the region. Its mission is to "help educators transform the learning experience through 'hands-on' education that inspires the joy and discovery of learning."
The Golden 1 Credit Union is California’s leading credit union, with more than 80 branches, $7.3 billion in assets and nearly 600,000 members. For more information, please visit golden1.com.
