SACRAMENTO, Calif., January 25, 2012—Last month, employees and members of the Paso Robles Branch teamed up to collect 375 pairs of pajamas during country music radio station K-JUG's annual "DJs for PJs" drive.
DJs for PJs® is a non-profit organization that provides new pairs of pajamas to benefit children in need. Originally founded in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2003, the organization has grown to fill charitable needs for children throughout the country.
"Our team enjoyed volunteering for this cause," said Golden 1 Paso Robles Branch Sales Manager Nancy Garza. "This was a wonderful teambuilding experience for us, plus it helped show these kids how much the community does care."
The new pajamas were donated to the Central Coast Funds for Children. The organization was able to distribute the much-needed pajamas to nine different agencies throughout San Luis Obispo County.
"Golden 1 is committed to helping the communities we serve," said Donna A. Bland, Golden 1 President and CEO. "We're very proud of the contributions our employees and our members made to help this worthy cause."
The Golden 1 Credit Union is California's leading credit union, with more than 80 branches, $7.5 billion in assets and more than 600,000 members. For more information about Golden 1, please visit golden1.com.
