SACRAMENTO, Calif., January 4, 2013—Golden 1 Credit Union collected and donated thousands of pounds of food and household necessities during its annual company-wide food drive. The supplies, as well as $52,500 in monetary donations, have been distributed to 15 local and regional food banks throughout California.
During November of 2012, collection bins in 83 Golden 1 branches throughout the state, as well as at the Golden 1 Operations Center in Sacramento, were filled by credit union members, employees, and the general public. The donations, along with donation checks, were given to charitable organizations throughout California, including:
“Our food drive has become a holiday tradition here at Golden 1,” said Donna A. Bland, Golden 1 President and CEO. “It’s one way we can help people in need get through the holiday season.”
