Golden 1 Credit Union Helps Sacramento Sheriff Bring Toys to More Than 7,500 Children
SACRAMENTO, Calif., January 4, 2013—Baby dolls, bicycles, and even computers were among the toys donated during a toy drive held November 19 to December 5, 2012, at Golden 1 Credit Union. Toys collected at Golden 1 branches in and around Sacramento were donated to the 2012 Sacramento Sheriff ’s Toy Project.
During the toy drive, members and the general public were invited to drop off a new, unwrapped toy at a Golden 1 branch in the greater Sacramento area. More than 7,500 children of all ages received toys through the project, and those toys were combined with food baskets and delivered to families in need. The number of families and children served by the project this year increased by 27% over last year.
"Golden 1 has a long tradition of helping our communities through donations," said Donna A. Bland, Golden 1 President and CEO. "Our hope is that children and families had a happier holiday because of their community’s support and the Sheriff’s Toy Project."
Golden 1 Credit Union is California’s leading credit union, with 83 branches, $7.9 billion in assets and more than 625,000 members.
