Sacramento, Calif., October 18, 2013 – In its ongoing efforts to invest in California’s future leaders, Golden 1 Credit Union is once again offering college scholarships for Golden 1 members and their dependents. Applications will be accepted from October 15, 2013 through January 15, 2014.
Golden 1 Credit Union Scholarships will provide renewable two and four-year financial assistance valued at up to $20,000 per student for full-time students who plan to attend accredited, nonprofit colleges and universities in California during the 2014-2015 school year.
"In 2013, the first year of our program, we distributed 33 scholarships with total value of nearly $320,000," said Donna Bland, President and CEO of Golden 1. "Our scholarships will help families and students throughout the many communities served by Golden 1 Credit Union achieve their dreams of a brighter future."
To apply, students must have a 3.0 or higher grade point average (GPA), be involved in community service and extracurricular activities, and be a Golden 1 member for at least one year or a dependent of a Golden 1 member. Membership is a requirement of scholarship acceptance.
"Golden 1 Credit Union Scholarships complement our products and service for students, support California’s future leaders, and demonstrate our commitment to the communities we serve," added Donna Bland.
