Our Courtesy Pay Program is extra coverage when you have insufficient funds in your checking account. So, instead of a declined card or returned check, Golden 1 will cover the payment up to $500 for electronic payments and transfers (ACH transactions), checks, and debit transactions.
Why Courtesy Pay?
Courtesy Pay isn’t a loan. It’s an extra measure that steps in if Overdraft Protection is depleted or unavailable.
You will be eligible for our Courtesy Pay program if you have an eligible account type and if you maintain your account in good standing. Maintaining your account in good standing includes, among other requirements, the following:

There’s no fee to enroll and when you open a Golden 1 checking account, you’re automatically enrolled in Courtesy Pay for electronic transactions (ACH) and checks. However, you do need to opt in to Courtesy Pay for Everyday Debit Card Transactions and you can also opt out of Courtesy Pay for Everyday Debit Card Transactions at any time.
