Automatic Loan Payments
Automatic loan payments are a convenient way to manage your loans and their due dates. To sign up and make payments from a Golden 1 account

Change Loan Payment Due Date
You can change your payment due date within the same month on all closed-end loans. Payment due dates available are the 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th or 25th of the month. Please note that Line of Credit due dates are the 5th of the month and cannot be changed.

Loan Amortization
Principal-only payments is an option for certain loans to reduce your monthly payment. By making a principal payment of $5,000 or more, your loan may be eligible for re-amortization. Once approved, this process lowers your monthly payment and retains the same loan duration.  Principal-only payments is an option for certain loans. Principal payments must be made through a Branch or by calling the Member Service Contact Center at 1-877-GOLDEN 1 (1-877-465-3361).

Lump Sum Payment Option

Paying down your loan balance with a principal-only payment typically shortens the term of the loan; that is, it results in the loan being paid off sooner. However, you also have a principal-only Lump Sum Payment option, which reduces your monthly payment by re‑amortizing the remaining balance over the remainder of the loan term.

To qualify for a Lump Sum Payment

  • Payment is $5,000 or more.
  • Must be a secured close-ended loan (ex. vehicle, personal signature, or fixed equity loan).
  • Loan must be current.
  • Excludes insurance payouts and warranty cancellations.
