Our members and communities are at the heart of everything we do, and we are proud to give to partners and organizations that help improve the quality of life in California. Golden 1 is an inclusive and caring partner and leader that works to improve the financial well-being of all Californians. Through grant making, event sponsorships, financial education, scholarships, our Community Suite at Golden 1 Center, and employee volunteering, Golden 1 supports organizations that align with our Social and Community Impact Pillars of Educational Attainment, Access to Career Pathways, and Entrepreneurship for Youth and Young Adults.
Additionally, Golden 1 has donated close to $600,000 since 2011 to 38 food bank programs across California, resulting in millions of meals to families and individuals in need.
Del Paso Heights Partnership
Golden 1 has made a $10 million, multi-year investment in Del Paso Heights, a chronically under-resourced community in Sacramento. In addition to financial support, we're opening a Financial Resource Center in the neighborhood, to provide easily accessible services.
In our first year (2022-23), we granted more than $1 million to four partner organizations in Del Paso Heights:
- Greater Sacramento Urban League (GSUL) to support ongoing economic development services for the Del Paso Heights community.
- Mutual Assistance Network (MAN) to provide financial education and coaching support for youth and adults in Del Paso Heights.
- Neighborhood Wellness Foundation (NWF) to provide targeted physical and mental health support for Grant Union High School students.
- Roberts Family Development Center (RFDC) to provide academic support, mentoring, and wraparound care for youth, young adults, and families.
The investment has served roughly 2,700 Del Paso Heights community members, and Golden 1 employees volunteered 114 hours in the community, including regular financial education workshops.
