Identity theft
How will you know if your identity has been stolen? Watch for these red flags:
- Bills for things you didn’t buy
- Calls from debt collectors about accounts you didn’t open
- Unfamiliar accounts on your credit report
- Loan applications denied despite good credit
If you have evidence of identity theft, take these actions:

Download our Identity Theft Victim Kit. Fill out the ID Theft Affidavit form and take any other actions that apply.

File a police report with your local law enforcement department.
Create an Identity Theft Report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) online or by calling 1-877-438-4338.
