What is Terra Madre?
The Terra Madre Slow Food Festival originated as the Terra Madre Salone del Gusto in Turin, Italy – a global movement that champions sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and equitable food systems. It brings together food communities from around the world to share knowledge, traditions, and innovations that promote good, clean, and fair food for all.
Known as America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital, Sacramento is a natural fit for Terra Madre. The first-ever U.S. edition will transform downtown Sacramento into an exciting hub of culinary exploration and cultural exchange.

The Del Paso Heights Growers' Alliance is a grassroots nonprofit and Golden 1 Community Grantee advocating for social, environmental, and economic justice through community gardening, food education, and sustainability programs. Their community gardens provide culturally significant foods along with cherished experiences of traditional farming for diverse local populations.
