Golden 1 Credit Union to Donate $100,000 to California State University Campuses for Giving Tuesday

Contribution will support student food and basic needs programs across all 23 CSU campuses

Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) is pleased to announce a $100,000 donation to support food and basic needs programs at California State University (CSU) campuses as part of Giving Tuesday on December 2. This contribution will benefit students in need across all 23 CSU campuses, providing greater access to food and essential resources. Research from the California Student Aid Commission shows that two out of three college students in California experience food insecurity, underscoring the critical need for this support.

“Food insecurity remains a significant barrier for many college students working toward their educational goals, and we are honored to help strengthen this vital support system,” said Erica Taylor, Senior Vice President of Community Impact and Public Relations Officer for Golden 1 Credit Union. “CSU food pantries play an essential role in ensuring students can focus on their studies without the burden of hunger, and Golden 1 is proud to support such an important resource.”

This year marks Golden 1’s fourth consecutive Giving Tuesday donation to CSU campuses. Since 2012, Golden 1 has proudly contributed nearly $900,000 to food banks throughout California, helping provide essential resources to families and individuals in need.
