It’s not every day that you get to make Sacramento Kings fans’ dreams come true. However, each year we are able to give a select group of loyal fans a day of fun and excitement during Fantasy Camp at the Golden 1 Center.
What is Fantasy Camp?
Because of our partnership with the Sacramento Kings and Golden 1 Center, we can provide members with exclusive Kings-related events and benefits.
Fantasy Camp is one of the unique ways we share the value of our Kings partnership with our member. During Fantasy Camp, 40 Golden 1 members (along with a guest) experience a day in the life of an NBA player.
The Kings Fantasy Camp Experience
During the Fantasy Camp event, attendees were able to flex their basketball muscles – literally. They worked with members of the Kings coaching staff, on the floor of the Golden 1 Center arena, practicing a variety of basketball drills, including some that the players use to loosen up during practice or before games.
The coaching staff also gave Fantasy Camp attendees an insider’s view of what goes on during a game. They reviewed game film with the attendees, sharing insights on what they look for during a game and how they use film to prepare the team for upcoming games.
Finally, guests enjoyed lunch and a VIP tour through the Golden 1 Center. They were able to get a glimpse into areas that aren’t always accessible to the general public, including visiting the locker rooms and training facilities. The Fantasy Camp attendees were very impressed with the facility; one attendee shared, “I’ve really enjoyed the energy. I’ve never been inside the Golden 1 Center before and it’s really cool seeing how everything goes on in the background.”
Kings superfans were especially excited about the exclusive Q&A event, where they heard firsthand from Kings defensive standout Davion Mitchell. Fantasy Camp attendees got to see several different sides of Mitchell, as he shared both basketball insights and personal stories about his enthusiasm for gaming, the Davion Mitchell Day recently created by his Georgia hometown, and his experience winning a national championship during college at Baylor University.
When asked why he loves Sacramento, Mitchell highlighted the lasting loyalty of Kings fans. He’s looking forward to being part of the team that makes a playoff appearance happen in the near future. “You want to make history and be a part of that history,” Mitchell said.
An Unforgettable Experience with Golden 1 and the Kings
Fantasy Camp is an exciting yearly event that allows us to share with our members the uniqueness of the Golden 1 Center and our close partnership with the Kings.
